How GW celebrates Earth Month 2016
- Held an event called Earth Hour on March 31st,
where GW turned off the lights to save energy and the environment
- At the Commencement Fair, future graduates took
the green grad pledge and became a part of GW’s Green Alumni Network. By
signing the pledge, students said, “I pledge to explore and take into account
the social and environmental consequences of any job I consider and will try to
improve these aspects of any organization for which I work.”
- Held an event called “Green GW Trashion Show,”
where students designed outfits made of recycled materials. The fashion
industry is the second most polluting industry in the world.
- Held an event where staff and faculty measured
trees in order to make a plan for a more sustainable canopy.
